Fibromyalgia is a syndrome, which causes many people in Broward County to experience pain throughout their entire body. They often feel tenderness in their joints, tendons, muscles, and soft tissues. It also causes fatigue, depression, sleeping issues, headaches, and anxiety. Fibromyalgia can be caused by physical or even emotional trauma, sleep disturbances, or infections.

The pain associated with Fibromyalgia is commonly experienced on the back of the neck, knees, shoulders, elbows, chest, shins, and lower back. Eventually, the pain can spread. The joints are not often affected, but the pain can feel as though it is coming from them. The pain can be severe enough to bring people out of their sleep and many have to deal with it throughout the day as well. Cold and damp weather can make it worse, as can anxiety and stress. Symptoms can also include Irritable Bowel Syndrome, memory problems, difficulty sleeping, numbness or tingling in the extremities, palpitations, and tension headaches.
